Connect Roo Code

Roo Code shut down in May 2026, but installed copies still run. Add the official LUCI skills or LUCI's MCP server to Roo Code, or move to Cline.

If Roo Code is still your editor agent, LUCI works with it the same way it works with Cline. The official LUCI skills let Roo search your screen and meetings, and the skills move with you when you switch.

The skills live in the official repo: Memories-ai-labs/Luci-skills.

Install the skills

LUCI's in-app installer writes into Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex. For Roo Code, install from the repo.

bash
npx skills add Memories-ai-labs/Luci-skills -g -a roo

That writes into ~/.roo/skills/, so the skills work in every project. Drop -g to install into this project's .roo/skills/ instead. Roo also reads the shared ~/.agents/skills/ and .agents/skills/ folders, so a copy installed there for another agent works too.

Or ask Roo:

Install this agent skill for me: https://github.com/Memories-ai-labs/Luci-skills

That puts luci and distill on the agent. Roo watches its skills folders, so new skills show up without a restart. If one does not load, its folder name must match the name in its SKILL.md. Roo skips any skill where the two differ.

Try asking

  • "Search my screen memory for the stack trace from this morning"
  • "What was I doing before I opened this file?"
  • "Find where we agreed on the API shape in today's call"
  • "distill my life"

Optional: connect over MCP

If you would rather give Roo the tools without the skills, copy the URL and token from LUCI's Screen Memory panel. In Roo, click the MCP icon at the top of the Roo pane and make sure Enable MCP Servers is checked. Scroll to the bottom and click Edit Global MCP for every project, or Edit Project MCP for .roo/mcp.json in this one. Add:

json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "luci": {
      "type": "streamable-http",
      "url": "<url>",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <token>" }
    }
  }
}

Roo rejects a URL-based server with no type, and the value is streamable-http, not Cline's streamableHttp. If you use .roo/mcp.json, keep it out of version control. The token belongs to your install of LUCI.

More on the protocol path: Connect over MCP. Skills are the recommended path. MCP is the fallback.

If Roo still cannot see your memory, check Common issues. Privacy note: Agent Bridge.
