Life memory for creators: your research trail, kept

Friday night, timeline open, and the video is eleven seconds short of working. You need the chart. You saw it on Tuesday, mid afternoon, while three other things were happening: a PDF someone dropped in a Discord thread, or maybe a slide in a screenshare, or a screenshot in a quote tweet. Browser history gives you nothing, because it was rendered inside a PDF viewer with a URL that looks like a hash. Discord search gives you four hundred messages from Tuesday. You spend forty minutes and then rewrite the section to not need the chart.

That is the actual tax on creative work. Not the editing, not the writing. The reconstruction of your own week.

Everything already went through your computer

Whatever you make, it passed through this machine first. The forty tabs of research, the two hour call with your editor, the reference folder you never organised, the drafts you abandoned in Notion, the competitor video you watched at 1.5x while eating.

LUCI captures your whole day on the computer: meetings, email, drafts, everything in between. Screen, documents, browsing, and both sides of the audio on calls. It runs on Mac and Windows, it is free, everything is understood on device, and it is stored encrypted on your machine. Then your agent, Claude or Cursor or Codex, connects through the Agent Bridge. LUCI connects itself, nothing to set up. Your agent asks your memory questions in plain English and reads only what a question needs.

The point is not that you get a searchable archive to browse. Nobody browses archives. The point is that the assistant you already use can finally see the week you actually had.

Finding the thing you saw once

Search works the way you remember things, which is vaguely and by context.

Ask: the reference image I saw on Tuesday, the one with the orange grid. Or: find the PDF with the retention chart, I think it was in Discord. Or: what was that Japanese packaging site I had open last week while I was writing the sponsor script.

You do not need to have saved it. Saving is the step that fails. Screenshot goes to a folder, folder has nine hundred files with names like Screenshot 2026-08-11 at 14.02.31, and the folder is where references go to die.

Turning a week into a script

The raw material for most videos already exists, scattered: what you read, what you argued about on a call, the three false starts in a doc, the comment thread that gave you the idea.

Ask your agent to pull the whole trail on a topic. What did I read about the chip export rules over the last two weeks, in order. Then: what did I say about it on the call with my editor on Wednesday. Then have it draft the outline from that, not from a blank page and vibes.

This produces better scripts than asking a model cold, for the obvious reason. Cold, it writes the median internet take. With your week in front of it, it writes your take, including the good line you said out loud on Tuesday and forgot by Thursday.

Your agent distills each day and writes your Life: a folder of ordinary files on your disk. Plain files, readable by anything, which outlive any app including LUCI. Six months from now, that folder is the record of what you were thinking about in August.

Receipts

Sponsor deals go wrong in the gap between the call and the contract. On the call you said two shorts and a sixty second integration. The brand remembers three shorts and a dedicated video. Nobody was lying, and there is no recording to check because it was a Google Meet nobody thought mattered yet.

With both sides of the call in your memory, ask: what deliverables did I agree to on the call with this brand, and what did they say about exclusivity. You get the date and the sentence. Same for rates you quoted, timelines you promised, and the revision rounds you said were included.

Also useful in the boring direction: what did I actually cite in the script, so the sources list at the end of the video is real.

What this does not do

The honest edges. When you connect an agent, what that agent reads reaches that model's vendor. Your memory stays on your machine and only the parts a query needs get read, but Claude sees what Claude reads. You pick the agent, and the Life folder outlives whichever one you pick. LUCI is not open source, so on device processing is a claim you can check with a network monitor rather than by reading the source. It only knows what happened while the machine was on and capturing, so the idea you had in the shower and the research you did on your phone at 2am are not in there. Private windows can be excluded. Cards, keys, and passwords are blacked out before anything is saved.

And it is not going to have taste. It remembers the reference; you still have to know why it was good.

One week is enough to tell

Install it, work normally for a week, then ask for something you would have written off as lost. The tweet you saw about the pricing change. The name of the font in that thumbnail. What your editor said about the cold open.

If it comes back with the day and the source attached, that is the whole pitch.

Download LUCI for Mac or Windows, or see how it fits a creator's week on the creators page.

See for yourself.

100% free, 100% local — your memory stays on your device, encrypted at rest.
