01 — 背景

Why people replace Fireflies

Fireflies is a strong product for revenue teams: broad language coverage, deep CRM and workflow automation, and a searchable archive of every customer call. The reasons people leave are specific rather than a verdict on quality.

The bot is the first one. Fireflies documents that its notetaker joins as a named participant — "Fred from Fireflies" appears in the participant list, usually about a minute before the call starts, and the host has to admit it. That is visible consent by design, and it is awkward with clients, candidates, and anyone who did not expect a fourth guest. It is also increasingly blocked: Zoom admins can block notetaker domains or gate them behind a waiting room, some universities block them account-wide, and Microsoft Teams began auto-blocking third-party notetaker bots in August 2026. A bot that cannot get in cannot take notes.

The second is where the recording lives. Audio, transcript, and video are processed and stored in the Fireflies cloud, HIPAA support is Enterprise-only, and custom retention policies are Enterprise-only too — so on any lower tier you do not decide how long recordings persist. A pending Illinois BIPA class action alleges the speaker-recognition feature builds voiceprints of participants who never signed up; the claims are unproven and Fireflies disputes them, but the question is one every cloud diarization service has to answer.

The third is per-seat cost and the ceilings underneath it. As of September 2026 Fireflies is $10/seat/month on Pro and $19 on Business billed annually ($18 and $29 month-to-month), with Enterprise at $39 annual-only. Storage is 400 minutes for a whole team on Free and 8,000 minutes per seat on Pro; recording length is capped at 2 hours on Free and Pro, 3 on Business, 4 on Enterprise. AskFred and the advanced summaries also run on a monthly AI-credit allowance rather than being uncapped. Teams usually notice the seat math at ten users, not at one.

What to compare when replacing a meeting bot

Transcription quality has converged. These four axes are where the tools genuinely diverge, and only two of them appear on a pricing page.

Q1

Does it need a bot in the call?

This decides whether the tool works at all in restricted environments. Bot-based tools depend on being admitted; bot-free tools capture from your own machine, so no second guest appears and there is no bot for a host admission policy or the Teams auto-block to stop. Endpoint and recording policies still apply, and the disclosure becomes yours to make rather than the bot's to announce.

Q2

Where the audio is processed and stored

A cloud recording means a vendor retention policy, a jurisdiction, and a BAA negotiation if you handle regulated data. Fireflies gates HIPAA and custom retention to Enterprise. Tools that transcribe and store on your own device change the shape of that analysis — your own obligations still apply — at the cost of the vendor-managed sharing that makes Fireflies convenient across a large team.

Q3

The ceilings, not the headline price

Compare recording length, storage, and any credit allowance before you compare monthly cost. Fireflies caps recording at 2 hours on Free and Pro, gives a team 400 minutes of storage on Free, and meters AskFred and advanced summaries by credits. Jamie caps meeting length by tier. Those are the limits that actually force an upgrade.

Q4

Can your AI tools reach the notes afterwards?

A transcript that only lives in one web app has to be re-pasted into everything else. The more useful question in 2026 is whether Claude, Cursor, or Codex can pull the context themselves when you ask a question — the difference between an archive you visit and a memory your tools use.

Caps, platforms, and pricing reflect each vendor's own documentation and pricing pages as of September 2026. Vendors change tiers frequently — check before you buy. Litigation referenced is alleged and undecided.

Best for replacing Fireflies without a bot, a cloud recording, or per-seat pricing

捕获方式
Bot-free, meetings + screen
处理方式
On-device, encrypted at rest
平台
Mac & Windows
价格
Free; no seat pricing, 4 h/session
维护状况
Actively developed and shipping; your memory lives on your own disk

LUCI records meeting audio from your own machine, so nothing joins the call. There is no participant for a host to admit, no domain for a Zoom admin to block, and nothing for the Teams auto-block to catch. Transcription and on-device understanding happen locally and the record is encrypted at rest on your disk, so retention is a folder you control rather than a policy reserved for Enterprise.

Two things it does that a meeting bot does not. It remembers across meetings and across the rest of your day — the deck the customer reacted to, the dashboard you opened mid-call — so "what did they push back on in June?" is answerable without hunting for the right transcript. And your memory is reachable by the AI tools you already use through Agent Bridge: Claude, Cursor, and Codex can pull the context themselves, and LUCI connects itself with nothing to set up. Where Fireflies still wins: native CRM automation and admin tooling for a large revenue org.

Granola

Best for the most polished bot-free notes if cloud processing is acceptable

捕获方式
Bot-free meeting capture
处理方式
Cloud transcription, US-hosted AWS
平台
Mac & Windows
价格
Free (limited history); $14–$35/user/mo

The obvious move if the bot is what you are leaving over: no participant appears in the call, the notes are clean, and the templates are good. For a founder or a small team taking client calls it is the least disruptive swap.

It solves the bot, not the cloud. Per its own docs, audio goes to a cloud transcription provider with transcripts on US-hosted AWS, non-Enterprise accounts train on anonymized data unless you opt out, and it cannot sign BAAs. The free tier limits how much history you can open in the app, paid plans are billed monthly only, and the desktop app has no live speaker diarization — speech is "Me" or "Them", a real downgrade from Fireflies on multi-party sales calls.

Otter.ai

Best for large teams that want a shared, mature transcript workspace and accept a bot

捕获方式
OtterPilot bot, always visible
处理方式
Cloud (AWS)
平台
Web, mobile, integrations
价格
Free (300 min/mo); paid from ~$17/user/mo

The like-for-like swap: same bot-based model, years of tuning on noisy multi-speaker audio, and the most mature web admin tooling in the category. If you are leaving Fireflies over credits, price, or summary quality rather than the bot itself, this is the straightforward move.

The trade-offs carry over and some get tighter. OtterPilot joins as a participant and posts transcript links into the meeting chat, conversations are stored in Otter's cloud, a HIPAA BAA is Enterprise-only, and the free tier is 300 minutes a month with a 30-minute ceiling per conversation — one long call exceeds it. Language coverage is roughly six transcription languages, one per session, against the 100+ Fireflies claims. A pending federal class action also alleges Otter recorded participants who never consented; Otter denies the claims and no ruling has been made.

Meetily

Best for the cheapest fully local transcript you can audit yourself

捕获方式
Bot-free, audio only
处理方式
On-device (local Whisper / Parakeet)
平台
Mac & Windows (Linux in development)
价格
Free (MIT); Pro $10/user/mo
维护状况
Open source — you can fork it, but you also run it

Free, MIT-licensed, uncapped in the community edition, and transcribing on your own machine. For a solo user who wants transcripts without a bot, a cloud, or a seat charge, it is hard to argue with the price, and you can read the code that handles your audio.

It is much narrower than Fireflies: meeting audio only, notes per meeting rather than an accumulating memory, no screen context, no CRM automation, and no agent access. Linux or self-hosting means building from source, and team features sit on the paid Pro tier.

anarlog (formerly Hyprnote)

Renamed

Best for Mac users who want meeting notes as local Markdown files they keep forever

捕获方式
Bot-free, audio only
处理方式
On-device transcription
平台
Mac (Apple Silicon) promoted; Windows partial
价格
Free (MIT, local); paid Pro tier for cloud features
维护状况
Open source (MIT) and forkable; the brand has changed twice

Local transcription with notes stored as plain Markdown you can grep, back up, and keep after you stop paying anyone — the opposite of a cloud workspace you rent per seat.

Watch the naming: the open-source app shipped as Hyprnote, briefly carried the char name, and is now anarlog, while char continues as a separate product from the same team. Windows support lags Mac, summaries need your own model or API key unless you take the hosted tier, and there is no CRM automation of the kind Fireflies is built around.

Jamie

Best for EU teams that need bot-free capture with European data residency

捕获方式
Bot-free, audio only
处理方式
Cloud — EU servers + third-party model APIs
平台
Desktop + iOS/Android
价格
Free (10 mtgs/mo, 30 min); paid from €25/mo

If you are replacing Fireflies for GDPR reasons specifically, Jamie is the cleanest of the cloud options: bot-free capture, EU-hosted processing, and real mobile apps for in-person meetings.

The caps are tighter than Fireflies' in places — 10 meetings a month and 30 minutes per meeting on free, with meeting length rising by tier — notes arrive after processing rather than live, it needs a connection, and audio is still processed off your machine partly via third-party model APIs. Pricing is per-user in euros, so the seat math does not go away.

TwinMind

Best for capturing in-person meetings from a phone on the table

捕获方式
Bot-free, always-on ambient listening
处理方式
Partly cloud — the flagship Ear-3 model is cloud-based
平台
iOS/Android strong; desktop limited
价格
Free; Pro ~$15/mo; Max ~$50/mo

Fireflies cannot record the meetings that happen in a room. TwinMind is purpose-built for those: mobile-first, always-on capture, very broad language coverage, speaker ID on paid tiers.

It is a poor fit for a desktop, call-heavy workflow. The flagship Ear-3 model runs in the cloud, paid tiers route through hosted frontier models, and desktop coverage lags the phone apps — so it complements a call notetaker more often than it replaces one.

06 — 常见问题

常见问题解答

What is the best Fireflies alternative that does not put a bot in the call?

LUCI, Granola, Jamie, Meetily, anarlog, and TwinMind all capture without adding a participant, so there is nothing for a host to admit or a Zoom admin blocklist to stop. If the audio also has to stay off the cloud, LUCI, Meetily, and anarlog transcribe on-device; LUCI is the only one of those three that also captures screen context and lets Claude, Cursor, or Codex reach your memory through Agent Bridge.

Is there a free Fireflies alternative?

Yes, and they are free for different reasons. LUCI is free with no seat charge and no monthly minute quota, because recording and understanding run on your own machine — sessions go up to four hours. Meetily's MIT community edition and anarlog's local mode are free and open source. The cloud tools meter instead: Granola limits how much history you can open, and Jamie's free tier is 10 meetings a month at 30 minutes each, since your usage is their compute bill.

Is Fireflies free?

There is a free tier, but the ceilings arrive quickly. As of September 2026 the free plan gives a whole team 400 minutes of storage, caps recordings at 2 hours, and meters AskFred and the advanced summaries against a monthly AI-credit allowance. Paid plans are $10/seat/month on Pro and $19 on Business billed annually ($18 and $29 month-to-month), with Enterprise at $39 annual-only — and HIPAA support and custom retention policies are Enterprise-only.

How do I record meetings without the Fireflies bot joining?

Use a tool that captures from your own computer instead of dialling into the meeting. LUCI records system audio — everyone you can hear — plus your microphone, so coverage is the same but no guest appears in the participant list. That also survives the host-side controls that stop bots: Zoom domain blocklists, waiting rooms, and the third-party notetaker auto-blocking Microsoft Teams began in August 2026. The disclosure becomes yours to make rather than the bot's to announce, so tell people you are recording.

Can I export my Fireflies transcripts before I switch?

Yes — export from Fireflies first, then check what your replacement accepts; LUCI imports exported transcripts so past call history stays searchable alongside new meetings. Do the export before you downgrade or cancel, not after: storage on the free plan is 400 minutes for the whole team, and access to what you recorded on a paid tier is tied to that plan.
