This API Use Policy (the "Policy") governs your use of the LUCI API and related developer services (collectively, the "API"). It supplements the LUCI Terms of Service and is incorporated by reference. By accessing the API you agree to this Policy. We may update this Policy from time to time; continued use of the API after an update constitutes acceptance.
1. Acceptable use
You may use the API to build products and integrations that comply with this Policy and applicable law. You are responsible for ensuring that your end users' use of your application also complies with this Policy.
2. Prohibited use
You must not use the API to:
- Generate, host, or distribute content that is illegal, infringing, defamatory, harassing, or that depicts the sexual abuse or exploitation of minors.
- Build tools designed for surveillance, stalking, biometric identification of private individuals, or other privacy-violating purposes.
- Generate disinformation, impersonate real people without consent, or interfere with elections or democratic processes.
- Develop weapons, malware, or systems intended to cause physical harm or disrupt critical infrastructure.
- Make consequential decisions about employment, credit, housing, insurance, healthcare, or legal status without meaningful human review.
- Reverse engineer, extract, or distill the underlying models, or use API outputs to train competing models.
- Scrape or harvest data at scale, evade rate limits, or share API credentials across unrelated applications.
- Misrepresent AI-generated content as human-authored where disclosure is legally or ethically required.
3. Rate limits and fair use
We apply rate limits to ensure availability for all customers. Limits are documented per plan and may be adjusted to protect the service. Sustained traffic above your plan's limits may result in throttling or suspension. Contact sales for higher-volume tiers.
4. Authentication and credentials
API keys are confidential and must not be exposed in client-side code, public repositories, or shared with third parties. You are responsible for activity performed using your credentials. Rotate keys promptly if you suspect compromise.
5. Data handling
Inputs you submit and outputs returned by the API are processed according to the LUCI Privacy Policy. You must not submit personal data, regulated data (PHI, payment card data, etc.), or third-party confidential data through the API unless you have the legal basis to do so and have configured your account for that data category.
6. Output responsibility
API outputs may contain inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing and validating outputs before relying on them in production, and for clearly disclosing AI involvement to your end users where relevant.
7. Reporting violations
If you become aware of a violation of this Policy, please report it to abuse@memories.ai. Security vulnerabilities should be reported per the Security page.
8. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and take action including warnings, rate limiting, suspension, or termination of API access. Where required by law, we may also disclose information to law enforcement.
9. Changes
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the API, applicable law, or our acceptable use standards. Material changes will be communicated through reasonable means; non-material updates take effect on posting.
